Hand don'ts, reviving routine and applying hand cream.

Hand don'ts

Don’t cut cuticles: You may create hangnails that can cut your cuticles.

Don’t use a steel nail file: If you have problem nails, three steel files will be too harsh. An emery board is much kinder.

Don’t tile nails right down to their comers: You may cause calluses if you file nails down to their comers.

Don’t bite your nails: If you find it difficult to kick the habit of nail-biting, consider painting on one of the special polishes available from the chemist.

Reviving routine

Smooth nails: Whenever you use a moisturizer on your face or body, apply a little to your nails too.

Cuticle care: Push back cuticles with a towel every time you dry your hands.

To apply hand cream

The best way: Rest one elbow on a table and apply hand cream from your fingertips to your wrist. Smooth it on, finger by finger, as though drawing on tight gloves. Finish by shaking your hand from the wrist, until it flops like a rag doll. Repeat it with your other hand.

Another excellent method: Is to massage hands back and front. Work in hand cream, using squeezing, circling, and pinching movements from base to fingertip. Manipulate each finger separately and don’t hurry the routine.
