Getting the hair color right. Our best advice for coloring hair.

hair-color

Making the most of your hair color: Your hair should radiate color and vitality. The hair experts say that a good test for hair color is to focus a 150W bulb over your head. It should pick out lots of highlights.

Color harmony: If you do color your hair, then don’t overlook the rules of color harmony. Skin tone: if you cool your hair color (e.g. to ash tones), then warm the complexion of your foundation (e.g. to pink or peach) and vice versa. Eyes and lips: if you lighten and soften your hair color, then lighten and soften your eye make-up and lipstick. If you darken and strengthen your hair color, strengthen the eye make-up and lipstick. Blusher: if you lighten and cool your hair color, then lighten and cool your blusher. If you strengthen and darken your hair color, strengthen your blusher.

Ring the changes: No need to get bored with a short cut, Ring the changes with partings. Tuck your hair behind one ear and hold it in position with a comb. Wear a circlet of beads or thread ajcm beads through your hair. *

The waiting game: The best hairdos during pregnancy are either one that’s long and easy to manage, softly permed perhaps or a short style that’s well out and looks good with the minimum of upkeep. A light perm on long hair is particularly versatile; you can take up the sides for the evening and leave the back hanging free.

Fringe plus: Consider the advantages of a fringe – a short, serrated fringe breaks up a round face; a smooth diagonal sweep of fringe shortens a long face; a fringe parted in the middle tends to soften a square face.
