Hairdo should complement your face shape

The diamond-shaped face: If your cheekbones are very wide, your chin is pointed, and your forehead and jawline are narrow, then the hairdo for you must have height and width at the top to balance the width of your cheeks. Brush your hair close to your head at the cheek line, and let it stop there or widen again below. A full fringe helps to make your forehead seem broader.

The triangular-shaped face: If your jaw is as wide as or wider than your cheekbones. And you have a narrow, usually a low I forehead. Then your hairdo should be wide at the temples, with a fairly full crown to balance the heavy jawline. If you wear a fringe, start it high on the crown to extend a low forehead.

The heart-shaped face: The most flattering hairdo for you is one that adds width and fullness to the lower part of your face. A medium to long cut is best.

The square face: If you have a square face with angular lines, the hairdo for you is one with soft, rounded lines. The length should be medium rather than short. Try a wave over your brow, or a curved fringe and curl the ends of the hairdo to soften any harsh angles.

The oblong face: If your face is long and thin, with forehead cheekbones and jawline all narrow, forming a long oval. Your best choice must be a hairdo that makes a wide, pretty frame around your face. The crown should be rounded but not too high, the sides quite full and the ends flicked up.

The round face: If your face is fairly short and broad, with rounded contours and full, plump cheeks, you need a hairdo with high, narrow lines. The crown should be fairly high to lengthen your face and the sides close to your head and as smooth as possible. A diagonal fringe breaks up circular lines. Bring your side hair forward on to your cheeks to cut their width.
